Challenge Finished

Finally finished with my challenge of $2 for 3 days. First off I can say that I will not be eating rice anytime soon, I've had my fill for awhile now as well as beans and ramon noodles. I found myself drinking a lot of water during this challenge the ramon was clearly the reason for that. After doing this challenge I definitely have a different perspective on how blessed I am to be able to have access to food anytime. I also have realized how difficult it is to live under these restrictions for me but for others its their real everyday lives. I can't imagine people having to go through this every day. I realize we need to make more of an effort to stop world hunger and I do not think just sending money is going to help. We need to do more, we need to help the areas struggling with hunger become self-sustaining with their own food production, help build their infrastructure, and create opportunities to be successful in international trade. All of this costs a lot to do but would greatly benefit our world. If we could make these problems more aware to people I think there could be a greater impact on it in the future.

  1. I think you're completely right that we could be doing more to invest in self-sustaining food production. Before infrastructure and marketing, it's necessary that developing nations have a reliable source of food so that people have the opportunity to be successful and creative. When people have no reliable source of food, their lives revolve around trying to find ways to feed themselves and their families, leaving them no time or energy to make meaningful contributions to their community and the world.
