The fast is over

The fast is finally over. It was a lot more challenging then I expected. I had thoughts run through my head many times of just cheating and eating something but I really wanted to see what it was like to go 24 straight hours without food. From this experience, I learned that we are very blessed to have food all the time at our finger tips. I also learned what it means to really be hungry and how mentally weak you become when your body does not get the nutrients it needs. The main thing I gained from this fast was that when I have enough money to donate to help people around the world get food, I will. No one should experience that fatigue and pain. I only did it for 24 hours. I can;t imagine going day to day wondering if I will get food. I think a few dollars a day from people who can afford it would go a long way in reducing hunger in the world. At least it would be a start. I would't say this challenged  really changed my perspective, but it really made it clear how hunger in the world is a real problem.
